Ep. 5- Kelsey Hand

Ep. 6- Alex Kern

I was raised and graduated high school in a small central Pennsylvania school called Warrior Run in 2014. I started at Slippery Rock University the following fall, following the 3+3 Exercise Science Pre-Physical Therapy track. I completed my Exercise Science degree and started at the SRU DPT program in the fall of 2017.

I've been involved in Slippery Rock Residence Life since 2015 and by the time I graduate in 2020, I will be the University's longest ever Resident Assistant at a total of 5 years. During the summer of 2018, I was asked to become the Cadaver Lab Graduate Assistant for the Physician Assistant program. In repayment for a tuition waiver, I dissect human cadavers and teach gross anatomy to the PA students.

On top of my two positions and class load as a second year SPT, I am often found in the gym or out on a run or walk.

In regards to Physical Therapy, I plan to get a certification in manual/orthopedic physical therapy and attain a fellowship in one of those two specialties. Depending on where life takes me, I'm interested in opening a cash based physical therapy clinic.

I do not have any social media, but if you would like to know more about the cadaver lab, physical therapy, or my life and how I got here, feel free to email me @ apk1004@sru.edu

Ep. 7- James Newman

I am a 3rd year student at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. (Strongly encourage everyone to visit Charleston at some point!) I start my 4th, and final clinical in February in Mesa, AZ and Graduate May 18th!! My contact information is as follows: Email- Newmanjamsuc19@gmail.com, Phone- 8642700114, Twitter- Jnewman_15, Insta- Jnewman_3.

Highlights are always the hardest part... I'm not the most colorful crayon in the box by any means. I was an undergraduate baseball player who's flame got lit during my Observation hours in an inpatient setting. After watching a therapist during a stroke victim's rehab, where she helped him to walk again, I was sold. So while I am an Ortho minded/loving person, my roots are sort of Neuro based. I am on my second year serving on the Student Assembly Board of Directors after getting elected in Portland, OR in Nov, 2017. My passion is networking and mentorship. I love the idea of everyone pursuing their passions, and I believe a mentor is the best way to ensure that happens!

Ep. 8- Yusra

Ep. 11- Bryan Brozy

Ep. 12- Monifa Williams

I am a current SPT at High Point University. While in school I am being mentored in business, conducting biomechanics research, and helping coach Queen's University Women's Rugby team.  The beautiful thing about physical therapy is that it's our job to help people achieve their goals, whether it's getting them back to playing with their grandkids or achieving optimal performance in sport through injury prevention!
